The sweltering summer has given way to cool breezes and intermittent rains in my part of the world. I have been humming this song for a few days and all my desi readers will agree, there is nothing like a golden oldie when the mood strikes. This is from the movie Mr. and Mrs. 55 starring the suave Dev Ananad and the beautiful Madhubala. Singer -- the melodious Geeta Dutt.
Enjoy!
Love the weather now, it is so pleasant to be ouside anytime of the day especially during the evenings. After I come back home I keep the back yard open and enjoy the cool weather.
ReplyDeleteLove the song brought back some old memories.
Hey btw, chana/chickpeas theek zhalla ka? (could not help but show off my half baked Marathi :-))
I totally agree with you :) I just love old songs. I have huge collection of old songs. After all OLD IS GOLD!!!!

ReplyDeletewow!! Dev anand's songs are my fav. Nice song Jaya.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I do love this song-- it's perfectly sung by Gita Dutt and perfectly picturized on Madhubala. Thanks for putting this up. Watching old Hindi movie songs on YouTube is one of my not-so-guilty pleasures and one I often indulge in!
ReplyDeletewas browsing your blog now...very interesting!!
ReplyDeleteOh I so enjoyed the little video clip. Thanks for sharing. IT is beginning to be quite cool in the evenings here too...I love the Fall. But it was so cold last night our furnace started...sigh...too early. Soon we will have frost on the ground and leaves will all fall, and then .... months of cold rains. Oh well, I have a warm kitchen and a warm heart...a big german shepherd to sit by my feet and many books to read...all is well!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite rain song is the one from Shree 420 - Pyar hua Ikrar hua... This one is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteoh i love madhubala in this song.....perfect for the season :)
